2020 Ford Mustang 2.3 High Performance Package challenges the GT

It’s a beautiful September day on California’s Highway 1 north of San Francisco and the 2020 Ford Mustang 2.3 High Performance is doing its best to make me a believer. I prefer V-8s in my muscle cars, but the Ford Focus RS engine in this car is raucous fun and a boon to handling. It only takes a few jabs of the throttle and turns of the wheel to learn that the Mustang 2.3 High Performance is a viable alternative to the Mustang GT.  Ford first installed a turbo-4 in…

2021 BMW 2-Series Active Tourer spy shots

BMW is preparing a redesign for its 2-Series Active Tourer compact minivan that was never sold in the United States. The 2-Series AT was the first BMW to feature front-wheel drive when it arrived in 2014. Given BMW’s traditional product cycle, this redesigned model should be launched in late 2020 or early the following year. We currently don’t expect it to reach the U.S., either. The redesigned 2-Series AT is similar in size to the current model but looks to feature a sleeker design. The wheelbase also looks to be…

2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series spy shots and video

Mercedes-AMG’s GT has just been updated, but a bigger, badder and presumably faster version of the Affalterbach tuner’s standalone sports car has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring and on some of the German racetrack’s surrounding streets. The car looks to be derived from the track-focused GT R Pro, but there are clues that suggest we’re looking a tester for something even more hardcore. We’re talking about a GT Black Series, a car AMG boss Tobias Moers has said will be ready for sale in 2020. This means we’ll likely…

Off-road-focused Chevy Silverado ZRX reportedly in the works

Chevrolet has gifted the Silverado with some off-road chops with its Z71 package and Trail Boss dedicated off-road model. The latter essentially packs all of the Z71 goodies and adds a lift kit, monotube shocks, and an off-road wheel and tire combo. But that might not be the end of the Silverado’s off-road program as Muscle Cars & Trucks reported on Friday that a more capable Silverado off-roader is coming. The truck will reportedly wear the ZRX name that General Motors recently trademarked—sorry GMC fans—and feature off-road upgrades similar to…

While previous rumors suggested that the powerplant could get some electric help, Moers hinted instead that it will make big power with the help…

The Frankfurt International Motor Show has come and gone and once again there was plenty to digest. Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS concept Mercedes-Benz unveiled a concept called the Vision EQS. 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo spy shots and video

Spy photographers have spotted a prototype for a new generation of the Porsche 911 Turbo, the everyday supercar.
